YEAR 5

Welcome back Year 5!!! Everyone was excited and happy to be back at school for Term 4. We survived another time of Home Learning and have now a great appreciation of being at school and back in the classroom. It was lovely to see so many happy faces and friends who were pleased to see each other again.

This term for English, the Year 5s, have been working on different types of poetry. They have shown their skills in writing poems using figurative language. There are many skilled poets in the classroom!!

Year 5 Poems

In Art, the Year 5s have been busy completing artwork using lines and string art.

In the classroom, the students have been working hard and they are trying to complete as much work as possible. They have been doing many lessons of Spelling Mastery and practising their spelling words.

So far this term, the class have been learning short and long division strategies. This was quite a tricky Maths topic for many students. Students are enjoying doing activities based around Chance and Data.

The Year 5 class is busy working on their Integrated Studies assessment project. The project is making a 3D model of either a plant or animal cell. We are excited to see the finished products and presentations soon.

Some students enjoyed dressing up for the Book Week Character dress-up-day.

For P.E., the class have been practising skills for the Athletic Sports Day. Relay teams have been decided and all the students are excited for the house competitions.

This term we have welcomed a new friend to our class, Sienna. We hope she loves our school as much as we do.

Regards,
Mrs Stacey Koktas
